"HISTORIES OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE OF PINELLAS COUNTY, FLORIDA -1883-2005"
By Dr. Herman Koren, Professor Emeritus,
Indiana State University
The history of the Jewish community of Pinellas County is part of a continuum of 4000 years of Jewish life, love and respect for God and people. This 720 page professionally written hardback book incorporates tens of thousands of pages of research materials, hundreds of interviews and the spoken and written word of a large number of Jewish people which helps us understand how the Pinellas County Jewish community was formed, grew, and became a huge positive influence on the lives of the Jewish and general communities of Pinellas County, Florida, and the United States.
THIS IS NOT A SOUVENIR BOOK WITH ADVERTISEMENTS TO BE A FUNDRAISER!!!!!
This is an extremely well researched study of a Jewish community from its inception to modern times, which can be used as an example by all Jewish communities, as well as all other faith-based communities throughout the United States, as an example of how to gather, interpret and preserve oral and written information to give our children a factual basis for how to live a good life.
The author, Dr. Herman Koren, recipient of the internationally acclaimed Walter S. Mangold Award, the highest honor in environmental health in the United States, is the author of eighteen books. He has modified his research skills in the field of environmental health to local community history. He has voluntarily spent 9000 hours of his time in the last six years to present this gift to the community.
