Temple B'nai Israel Sisterhood
Working for our Temple, our Children, our Future
Our Sisterhood is a friendship circle of hands and hearts all connected. Our activities and our expressions of caring and giving for our families, for Temple B’nai Israel, and for our community are exhibited in many different ways.
For example, Sisterhood participates in and financially supports the Religious Community Services in our area; we embrace interfaith marriages through our Outreach Program, we sponsor annual interfaith luncheons with members from our neighboring Churches; we bake for Sisterhood and Brotherhood Shabbats, and we provide Onegs for Simchat Torah and for “Tot Shabbats.”
Sisterhood gives a book entitled On The Doorposts of Your House to each confirmand, and we present every B’nai Mitzvah with a Tanakh engraved with their name. Whenever there is no Bar or Bat Mitzvah, Sisterhood adorns the Bimah with beautiful floral arrangements.
Recently we completed two beautiful embroidered tablecloths to be used for Onegs and other religious occasions. These lovely tablecloths will forever showcase the names of our Sisterhood members and families providing a true legacy for Temple B’nai Israel’s Sisterhood.
In addition to all of that, Sisterhood staffs and manages the Temple’s Judaica Shop.
Please join us in our fun activities and interesting projects. For more information, contact our Sisterhood President, Ellen Petracco, at 727-215-2500, or by e-mail.
