The Brotherhood of Temple B'nai Israel
We are a member of the North American Federation of Temple Brotherhoods (NFTB). We join a coalition of over 30,000 Brotherhood members across North America dedicated to tikkun olam, repairing the world, through the practice of brotherhood.
We enjoy the friendship and brotherhood of men of all ages who share values and concerns for their Temple and community.
Some of our main goals are to become actively involved in the religious education of our youth, adult education, social action, and fellowship activities, all of which contribute to the enrichment of our Temple community.
Brotherhood sponsors many events, including these:
- Gives a personalized Kiddush Cup to each Bar/Bat Mitzvah
- Ushers for Friday Shabbat Services
- Sponsors monthly Breakfasts
- Sponsors the Break-the-Fast for Yom Kippur
- Donated APR and Kitchen Equipment
- Gives annual awards to Senior Study Students
- Co-Sponsors the Annual Congregational Picnic
- Conducts Sabbath Services for Menorah Manor, a Jewish Assisted Living Facility
- Holds an Annual Sports Night Dinner
- Gives money annually to the Religious School for purchase of books
- We started the "Confirmation Retreat Scholarship" to assist Temple families that need help with Confirmation expenses.
- We donated $500 to the Gulf Coast Jewish Family Service to stock their food pantry.
- We are paying for a security system for the Temple which includes cameras (8), a full screen monitor and a 48 hour recording system.
- We have set up a Brotherhood Book Shelf in the Temple library.
But that's not all ... there's much more! Join us and be a part of it!
YOUR SUPPORT OF BROTHERHOOD MEANS SUPPORTING YOUR TEMPLE.
